We regret to inform you that the Moving Minds Benefit Concert on November 7th has been cancelled.

Full refunds will start to be processed immediately through PayPal for those that have purchased tickets. Expect to see this reflected in bank statements within 10-14 business days. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but sadly it is out of our control. We will let you know when the concert is rescheduled and we hope you will be able to join us then.

Moving Minds Benefit Concert

The Moving Minds Benefit Concert will be a dynamic and engaging experience focused on social justice and community empowerment. Featuring internationally renowned, Grammy award winning, hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco and independent acts including Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Maya Azucena and Brooklyn-bred singer, poet and lyricist Shanelle Gabriel. Shanelle will host the event. More artists to be announced!

Goals of the Benefit Concert

• Raise money for our Mentorship and Youth Council programs.
• Recruit activists for our partner organizations.
• Excite and energize our communities.

Our Current Programs

• Moving Minds Mentorship

  College, Law and Business students mentor individual high school students throughout New York City. Mentors focus on education and career guidance, including college admissions, financial aid and resources to learn more about topics the mentee is passionate about.

• Strive Boxing

  A sub-section of Moving Minds Mentorship, Strive parallels the fight in life with the fight in the ring. Mentors and mentees learn how to become academically excellent and explore careers through boxing.

• Youth Councils

  Groups of middle school and high school students meet weekly at the offices of their New York City Council Members' office to discuss local politics and community activism.

How Your Contribution Helps

• The money we raise through the benefit concert will be used to hire full-time support to better serve and expand our Moving Minds Mentorship, Strive Boxing and Youth Council programs.
• Additionally, we will continue development of a web application as a free resource to non-profits, activists and others working to empower communities and get things done.
