East Harlem Youth Council

We are a group of 13-21 year-olds whose aim it is to address social justice issues that we identify in our communities. We operate out of District 8, which is currently represented by Council Woman Melissia Mark-Viverito. We seek to make change through the political process and grassroots activities like block parties, film screenings, and protests. We believe that the youth are entitled to a voice that is listened to and acted upon and seek to empower ourselves.
